The Supreme Court will hear argument on an appeal petition filed by war crimes convict Mir Quasem Ali on February 23.After concluding Wednesday’s hearing, the five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha fixed the date on Wednesday to hear legal aspects from the attorney general.Other members are Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, Justice Hasan Foyez Siddiqi, Justice Hossain Haider and Justice Mohammad Bazlur Rahman.Earlier counsel for war criminal Mir Quasem Ali concluded arguments on an appeal filed with the Supreme Court by Quasem challenging his death penalty for wartime offences.On November 2, 2014, Mir Quasem was awarded capital punishment by the International Crimes Tribunal-2.
