President M Abdul Hamid will lead Bangladesh delegation to 'The First Summit of the OIC on Science & Technology' to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan on September 10, 11, reports BSS.
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the President and his entourage will leave Hazrat Shahjalal (R) Airport for OIC Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan at 2:45 pm on September 9, said President's deputy press secretary M Abul Kalam Azad.
The delegation will be received by Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan and concurrently accredited to Kazakhstan Mosud Mannan at Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport on the day, he added.
A foreign ministry press release said the delegation, including officials from the Office of the President, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Science and Technology, would take part in the OIC Summit.
The summit is expected to discuss and adopt OIC Ten-Year Action Plan on Science and Technology "OIC STI Agenda 2026", the release mentioned.
During the visit, the President is expected to have a bilateral meeting with his Kazakh counterpart and some of other counterparts from participating member states, it added.
The President is due to return home on September 12.
