Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Sylhet unit filed two defamation cases against The Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam on Sunday.In the cases, they demanded compensation of Tk 100 crore for ‘publishing without verification reports on Sheikh Hasina based on information provided by the DGFI after the 1/11 political changeover’.BCL Sylhet city unit president Abdul Basit Rumman and former president of the unit Rahat Tarafder filed the cases with Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Saifuzzaman Hiro.Meanwhile, taking the cases into cognizance, the court summoned Mahfuz.Advocate Humayun Kabir Babul, lawyer of Abdul Basit Rumman confirmed the matter to the journalist.
