Grandmaster Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib left for Georgia today to take part in the World Cup Chess scheduled to be held from September 2-28 in Tbilisi in Georgia, BSS reported.
GM Rakib qualified to participate as champion of Asian Zonal 3.2 Open Chess Championship which was held in last March in Nepal.
A total of 128 leading qualified players across the world including current world chess champion Magnus Carlsen will take part in event and the event which will be held in knock-out system.
GM Rakib will play two games in the first round against World no. 7 player GM Nakamura Hikaru of USA. FIDE trainer and Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib also accompanied with GM Rakib as a coach.
