Physicians of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) will conduct the second surgery on the right arm of Muktamoni as a tumour has been detected there.
"Her physical condition is better than before...So we have decided to operate another surgery on Muktamoni's right arm in the next week," Chief Coordinator of DMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery Department Dr Samanta Lal Sen told BSS today.
The first surgical operation on Muktamoni was carried out successfully at the DMCH without amputating her right hand on August 12.
Muktamoni, a 10-year-old girl of Kamarbaisa village in Satkhira sadar upazila, was admitted to the DMCH on July 11 with a malignant growth on her right arm.
After her admission to the DHCH, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken responsibility of the treatment of Muktamoni.
According to her father Ibrahim, a grocery shop owner of Kamarbaisa village in Sadar upazila, Muktamoni and her twin sister Hiramoni were a pair of healthy baby girls during their birth.
However, when Muktamoni was about 18-month-old, a wart appeared on her right arm.
