Review 16th amendment verdict: 14-party

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance today demanded reviewing of the Supreme Court verdict that upheld a High Court judgment scraping the 16th constitutional amendment.Their demand came from a press conference held at the political office of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city.Spokesman of the 14-party alliance and Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim said the judgment regarding the 16th amendment to the constitution is not acceptable to the 14-party alliance. “The verdict should be amended,” he added.Other leaders of the alliance said the people of the country know about the War of Liberation and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.They said the verdict regarding the 16th constitutional amendment should be reviewed.Information Minister and President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASOD) Hasanul Haq Inu described verdict of the apex court as a public property and it could be discussed.General secretary of Workers Party Fazle Hossain Badsha said verdict of the 16th constitutional amendment should be reviewed as it made observation on War of Liberation.
