Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will visit Dhaka in the beginning of September to attend the Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla informed Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque in a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka on August 7.
The exact date of the visit is yet to be finalized, according to the foreign ministry of Bangladesh.
This will be Sushma’s second visit to Bangladesh. The Indian minister last visited Bangladesh in 2014.
According to diplomatic sources, the JCC meeting would review the implementation and progress of decisions that were taken during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India in April.
