The recently retired Justice A H M Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has issued a letter to the Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Kumar Sinha to accept a verdict that was written after his retirement. Justice Manik on Sunday confirmed this matter to the journalist. He has written around 15 judgments and 70 orders which were pending with him.The justice sent the letter to CJ to ask Justice Md Abdul Wahab Mia to receive the judgment and orders written by him.Justice Wahab was the presiding judge of the bench of the Appellate Division of the SC where Justice Manik was a member.The letter was issued when discussions and criticisms had been sparked across the country as Chief Justice made a comment that ‘Writing verdict after retirement is contrary to the Constitution’.
