Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today said some 10,000 more doctors would be recruited through special BCS to remove manpower problem in the health sector.
"As many as 3000 physicians will be recruited in first phase while 7000 doctors will be appointed in phases," he told a meeting in the conference room of the ministry here, an official release said.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque, Health Secretary Sirajul Islam and Director General of Directorate General of Health Services Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad were, among others, present.
Nasim said, "We are also taking initiatives to recruit 40,000 manpower for third and fourth class posts in the health sector for improving healthcare services in the country."
He said physical presence of doctors at their respective work places should be mandatory for ensuring health services to the people across the country including remote areas.
Nasim said, "Now doctors are providing healthcare services from their respective working places as the government has enhanced its monitoring and others measures."
