Tigers to go Chittagong on Friday

The much awaited Test series between Bangladesh and Australia is fixed now as the pay dispute between the Aussie players and their board Cricket Australia (CA) was over after the both parties reached to an agreement over the hanging issue.

Bangladesh have been preparing themselves for the upcoming battle, though there were lots of doubts before the announcement came. Tigers have already finished their three-week conditioning camp in Mirpur, and have already started their batting and bowling practice under the supervision of the head coach Chandika Hathurusingha earlier this week.

The second test of the series is scheduled to be held at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the port city as per schedule, so the team management is decided to split into their preparation in two phases. First stage in Dhaka has already ended today and they will leave the capital for their next mission in Chittagong.

“Bangladesh team will leave Dhaka for Chittagong to start their preparation camp. They will be staying there for a week, and will return to the capital on August 12,” Minhazul Abedin Nannu told Jago News on Thursday.

Tigers are all set to start their task from Saturday and it will continue till Monday. On August 8, they have a gym session, and will take part in their lone three-dayer game, which will be started from August 9.

While returning to Dhaka, they will get a day for rest. From August 14-16, the tigers will begin their preparation in Dhaka. After that, a two-day warm-up match will be held from August 17-18. After finishing the match, the management will announce the squad for the series on the same day.

“Australia are expected to land Dhaka on August 18. We are thinking to announce the squad for the series after finishing the warm-up game. As it’s our home series, we may announce 14-member squad,” he said.
