Mobile phone operator Robi started integration of Airtel’s network in capital’s Badda, Cantonment, Gulshan, Kafrul, Ramna, Rampura and Tejgaon with its network today.Last week, the same was carried out in Adabor, Chak Bazar, Dhanmondi, Hazaribagh, Kalabagan, Lalbagh, Mohammadpur, New Market, Paltan, Ramna (partly), Shahbagh, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar and Tejgaon (partly) area of the capital, said a Robi press release.The integrated network will be combining spectrum, BTS and all other telecom network resources in the area to ensure the best quality experience for the Airtel and Robi customers.Airtel network in the Dhaka city will be gradually integrated with Robi’s network in the upcoming weeks ensuring customers’ convenience.In order to enjoy the improved network, the Airtel subscribers will be required to follow two simple steps: Airtel users will first need to manually search for Airtel/Airtel2G/ Airtel3G/ 47002/ Robi3G/ Robi axiata/BGDRobi/Aktel from their handset network option.Airtel users can manually select any of the options mentioned. Then they will need to activate the data roaming option on their mobile handset.Axiata Group of Malaysia and Bharti Enterprise of India had agreed to merge their respective operations in Bangladesh on January 28, 2016. Following the approval of the High Court of Bangladesh, Robi as the merged company began its commercial operation from November 16, 2016.Source: BSS
