Ruling Awami League (AL) submitted its financial reports-2016 to the Election Commission (EC) in the city on Monday.A three-member delegation, led by AL presidium member Abdur Razzak submitted the report on party’s income and expenditure to the Chief Election Commissioner K M Nurul Huda at the commission.Two other delegation members were AL Joint Secretary Dr Dipu Moni and Deputy Office Secretary Biplab Barua.According to the report, AL has about Taka 25.58 crore in the party’s account, including Taka 1.82 crore surplus money of the last year.The report showed that the party’s income was Taka 4.84 crore while expenditure was Taka 3.1 crore in 2016.Submitting the report, Abdur Razzak told newsmen that a lion share of the party’s fund has been fixed deposit in the bank while some money has been allocated for spending party’s regular expenditures.He said around Taka 1.24 crore has been added to the party’s account in this year as interest from the deposited money.Main sources of income include fees collecting from members of the executive committee, national committee, advisory committee, members of parliament, joint secretaries, central sub-committee and primary members of the party, donations, selling nomination papers for bi-polls and bank interest, he added.The main expenditure was providing salaries and bonus for employees of the party offices, entertainment and other costs, central rally, other official expenditures during elections, newspapers publications and relief operations, he said.Source: BSS
