The government will introduce independent prosecution service, Law Minister Anisul Haq told reporters after attending the 3rd working session on the last day of the three-day Deputy Commissioners’ conference at the secretariat on Thursday.He said, “The government has taken decision on GP (general prosecutor) and PP (public prosecutor) and the decision is independent prosecution service which will be implemented in phases.”“We are considering handing over the responsibility of recruiting (prosecutors) to the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission,” the minister said.“The salary and allowances for GP (general prosecutors), APPs (assistant public prosecutors) and AGP (assistant general prosecutors) is not only being considered but also coming as a proposal,” he added.Anisul Haq denied making any comment on running mobile court by executive magistrates as a case is pending with the Appellate Division in this regard.
