The fifth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 will kick off on November 2 this year instead of November 4.
Earlier, a grand opening ceremony of the cricket league will be held on October 31.
BPL Governing Council Member Secretary Ismail Haider Mollick said this at a press conference at the office of ACME in the capital’s Kalyanpur on Monday.
He said: “The dates have been changed as the T20 Global League of Cricket South Africa is expected to start in November.”
BPL 5 will see the eight franchises compete for the coveted title this year with Sylhet’s return.
The fourth edition of BPL, won by Dhaka Dynamites saw seven teams participate in the tournament.
Besides Dhaka, Khulna Titans, Chittagong Vikings, Rajshahi Kings, Rangpur Riders, Comilla Victorians and Barisal Bulls were all seen in action last year.
