The 5th death anniversary of prolific author, dramatist, screenwriter, playwright, prominent writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed is being observed on Wednesday in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, family of the preeminent writer has chalked out various programmes.
The programmes include offering ziarat at the writer's graveyard, paying homage to the paramount writer at Nuhash Palli and holding milad and doa mahfil at Shaheed Smriti Bidyapith, established by the writer.
Television channels will air different programmes highlighting the life and works of the prominent writer.
Humayun Ahmed was born at Mohanganj in Netrakona to Foyzur Rahman Ahmed and Ayesha Foyez on November 13, 1948.
Humayun Ahmed died of cancer at a hospital in New York on July 19, 2012.
The writer was conferred with Ekushey Padak, Bangla Academy Award, Lekhak Shibir Award and Michael Madhusudan Padak for his outstanding contributions to the Bangla literature.
