1 killed in Sylhet BCL infighting

A member of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was killed in a clash between two factional groups of the student wing of the ruling Awami League in Beanibazar Upazila of Sylhet at 12pm on Monday.

Khaled Ahmed Litu, 25, member of Bangladesh Chatra League, Beanibazar Government College unit BCL, died on the spot at the college campus.

A tense situation was prevailing in the campus over the clash.

Additional police were deployed in the area to control untoward situation.

Confirming the matter to Jagonews24.com, Suggan Chakma, Additional Superintendent of Police, said three people were detained in this connection.

However, Principal of the college Darkesh Chandra Nath denied the studentship of Khaled. He was a worker of a local mobile shop, claimed the principal.

According to the source, Pavel group and Pollob group of the college BCL locked into clash over establishing supremacy. At one stage of the clash, Khaled Ahmed was gunned down in the classroom of English literature.
