37 children drowned in flood water in last 2 weeks

A total of 37 children drowned in flooded areas across the country in last two weeks, according to the National Crisis Management Center and Disease Control of the Health Department.

Among the deceased, 4 were from Kurigram, 5 from Sirajganj, 7 from Gaibandha, 16 from Jamalpur, 2 from Moulvibazar and 3 from Cox’s Bazar.

Doctor Ayesha Akter, In-charge of National Crisis Management Center and Disease Control room of the Health Department, confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com on Monday.

“A total of 1144 teams are working in flooded areas across the country,” she said.
