A group of activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Sunday hurled eggs and shoes at Ganajagaran Manch spokesperson Imran H Sarker’s car protesting his bail order in a defamation case filed for ‘derogatory’ remark about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
BCL activists staged demonstration in front of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at 12pm and hurled eggs and shoes at Imran Sarker car.
Earlier the court granted bail to Ganajagaran Manch spokesperson and cultural activist Sanatan Ullash in a defamation case filed for their ‘derogatory’ remarks about Sheikh Hasina.
On May 28, Bangladesh Chhatra League education and study circle secretary Golam Rabbani filed the case against the duo with the court.
According to the case statement, Imran and Sanatan chanted defamatory slogans against the prime minister over the removal of Greek goddess Themis from the Supreme Court premises.
