A Rajshahi court on Tuesday awarded life term imprisonment and fined Tk 10,000 to 15 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and BNP. In default, they will suffer six months more in prison.The Speedy Trial Tribunal judge Gulam Ahmad Khalilur Rahman passed the order.The tribunal also sentenced 13 others to five years of rigorous imprisonment in the same case and acquitted some 32 others.Earlier on December 11, 2013, the accused wiped out plates of Fakirtola Baily Bridge in Sirajganj’s Sadar upazila during the blockade sponsored by BNP and Jamaat in 2013 and clashed with police when intercepted.
