Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said that poet and writer Farhad Mazhar left Dhaka of his own free will.
He made the remark in reply to a query on “the alleged abduction of Farhad Mazhar”.
“Based on the circumstances, it is clear that he left Dhaka of his own free will. I think it was done to confuse the government,” the IGP said at a press conference at the police headquarters in the capital on Thursday.
