Fifth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will kick-off on November 4. Before beginning the tournament, the participating teams are trying to pick up their target players for lifting the title.
To achieve that, Rangpur Riders, one of the contender, has picked the West India master blaster Chris Gayle up for this year Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) from Chittagong Vikings.
Regarding his signing, Ishtiaque Sadek, chief executive of the team said: “we have already signed Gayle in order to increase our strength. But it is not sure that he will play for the team throughout the tournament due to his busy schedule.”
“If the team can qualify for the next stage, he will be available for two or three matches.” he hoped.
Meanwhile, Rangpur Riders has displayed some magic before starting this event as they brought Australian Tom Moddy as a coach and also signed Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera alongside Caribbean duo Samuel Badri and Jhonson Charles. The English all-rounder Robi Bopara has already been included in the side. The team management is trying to sign proteas all-rounder Chris Moris as per their choice.
Apart from this, the authorities have already retained paceman Rubel Hossen and spinner Arafat Sunny in the squad. Now they are trying to include Nasir Hossen as an icon player.
The team ownership has been transferred to Bashundara group from this year.
