Morshed Khan gets bail in graft case

Former foreign minister and chairman of Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Ltd (PBTL) M Morshed Khan and his wife Nasrin Khan secured anticipatory bail for four weeks in a graft case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

A High Court bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Jutice Krishna Debnath granted them bail after hearing their petition on Tuesday.

ACC lawyer Khursheed Alam Khan said, "The High Court granted anticipatory bail for four weeks to Morshed Khan, his wife and 13 others. The court also ordered them to surrender to the trial court by this time."

ACC filed the case against Morshed Khan, his wife Nasrin Khan, Citycell chief executive officer Mehbub Chowdhury and 13 others for allegedly embezzling around Tk. 350 crore of AB bank.

Mehbub Chowdhury was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on July 1. He was granted bail the next day.
