Police, in special drives from Monday night to this morning, arrested 20 persons including four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, one drug trader and recovered 203 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from seven upazilas of the district.Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested seven persons, Khansama Thana police arrested four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Kaharole Thana police three, Hakimpur Thana police arrested one trader with 203 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, Birampur police arrested one, Ghoraghat police arrested two and Birganj Thana police arrested two.Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.The arrested people were sent to jail.
