Garment workers in Kalyanpur withdrew their two-hour long blockade on Saturday afternoon demanding payment of three months’ salary and festival bonus for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.The workers blocked roads from around 1:00 pm to 3:00pm as the authorities of Monde Apparels Ltd did not pay salaries for the month of April, May and June on Saturday, according to their earlier promises.Darus Salam Police Station OC (Investigation) Farukuzzaman said, “The workers withdrew their blockade as they got assurances from the concern authorities.”The blockade created acute traffic jams on roads from Farmgate-Dhanmondi to Shamoli and in the west side from Gabtoli to Amin Bazar.
