Eid-ul-Fitr likely to begin on Monday

Bangladesh will be on the lookout for the Eid moon on Sunday evening as it will be the 29th day of Ramadan.If it is sighted, the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Monday. Otherwise, Ramadan fasting will carry on for 30 days and Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on the next day.To take decision in this regard, a meeting will be held on Sunday evening at the Islamic Foundation auditorium with Religion Minister principal Matiur Rahman in the chair.However, Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s deputy director Abdur Rahman said that Eid moon would be sighted in Bangladesh on Sunday and Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed Monday.“I am one hundred percent sure after calculating on three aspects,” he told Jago News.(The article originally published in Bangla edition of Jagonews24.com is written in English by Zahidul Islam)
