Bangladesh, batting first, managed to put 264 runs for India to chase in the all-important semi-final being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Thursday.
Opener Soumya Sarkar was bowled on a duck by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first over. Sabbir Rahman was also scalped by Kumar when he mistimed a shot and gave an easy catch to Ravindra Jadeja.
Opener Tamim Iqbal (70 runs) and Mushfiqur Rahim (61) steadied the ship by hitting half-centuries before being dismissed.
India won the toss and opted to field against Bangladesh.
India picked the same team that played in their previous game against South Africa while Bangladesh too did not make any changes from the eleven that played against New Zealand.
