Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Mahbubur Rahman, BNP standing committee member, on Wednesday said Dhaka has become the city of rape. He was speaking at a meeting organized by Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal marking the 34th death anniversary of the party’s founder Ziaur Rahman at Engineers’ Institute this noon. “Delhi was used to be called the ‘city of rape’ earlier. But now Dhaka has taken the place. This is a human disaster for Bangladesh”, said Mahbubur Rahman. He expressed his resentment over not to take proper steps by the government against these mishaps. Abdullah Al Noman, Vice-President of the party’s executive committee and Shirin Sultana, General Secretary of Mohila Dal, were present at the meeting among others. SRJ
