Pakistan will face off against Sri Lanka in their concluding Group B encounter of the ICC Champions Trophy at the Sophia Gardens on Monday which has taken the importance of a virtual quarter-final.
The winner side will join England, Bangladesh and India in the semi-finals and will face Group A topper England in semi-final on Wednesday.
Pakistan had lost its opening match to arch-rival India by 124 runs while Sri Lanka defeated the Virat Kohli-led side by seven wickets to keep their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages wide open.
However, they bounced back to beat top-ranked South Africa by 19 runs in its second match at Edgbaston - the ground where they had succumbed to India just days earlier.
