Shafiul Alam Pradhan, President of Jatiya Ganotantrik Party (Jagpa), a component of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, died early Sunday.
He breathed his last at his residence at the capital’s Asad gate at 6.30am.
M. Golam Mostofa Bhuyan, Secretary General of Bangladesh National Awami Party and Nahid Hasan, Senior Vice President of Jagpa Chhatra League, confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.
However, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia expressed deep shock at the death of Shafiul Alam.
In early political life, Shafiul was involved with Bangladesh Chhatra League, a student of ruling Awami League.
