Monirul Haque Sakku assumed the office as Comilla City Corporation (CCC) mayor for the second time on Wednesday.
Newly elected mayor Sakku took the charge from Zahangir Alom, deputy commissioner of Comilla, this noon.
Meanwhile, a maiden meeting was held including 29 newly elected councilors at Otindro Mohon Lal conference room.
CCC’s chief executive officer (CEO) Anupam Barua, secretary Md. Helal Uddin, chief engineer Shafikul Islam, caretaker engineer Sheikh Mohammad Nurullah, among others were present in the meeting.
Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath of office to Sakku at her office in Dhaka.
It is mentionable that, Monirul Haque Sakku, a BNP backed candidate, won the Comilla City Corporation (CCC) polls beating Anjum Sulatana Sima nominated from Awami League, which was held on March 30.
