Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq on Monday said that a total of 1,350 roads would be built by September this year.
He said this while addressing a program after inaugurating a link road and bridge between Goidartek to Mansurabad at Gabtoli in the capital.
“We are making the city road wide and also constructing link roads, drains after removing Mosques, Madrashas and Graveyards for the betterment of the people,” he said.
The mayor also said that they had built some 643 link roads and drains and reformed many roads.
“We removed many pillar from various institutions including Desco on the road. Now people are getting benefit from this,” he said.
“If we don’t get any support from the local councilor when City Corporation conducts drive to evict illegal installation, we wouldn’t develop those areas,” he warned.
He, however, said that they would change the look of the city within one year if they get proper support from the people of all walks of life.
The DNCC mayor claimed that they installed five thousands CCTV cameras and 1200 led lights in the sensitive diplomatic area in the capital since last one year.
Among others, Awami League joint secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Aslamul Haque, member of the parliament of Mirpur constituency, local councilors and proponents of the Awami league were present at the program.
