Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today called the private sector to come forward for promotion of quality and enhance the scope of education for more people.
"The private sector should assist the government to facilitate quality education in the country as it is tough for the government alone to complete such huge task," said the minister.
The minister made this call while addressing as the chief guest in the education scholarship distribution ceremony arranged by the officers and employees cooperative association of the education ministry at Segunbagicha here.
Terming the education as a big work for building future, the education minister said, "We have to prepare the new generation accurately as they can make their lives successful by pursuing proper education as well as work for the development of the country."
He reiterated that the present government is providing various facilities including distribution of textbooks free of cost among students, scholarship and stipend, saying that the students must have to exploit these opportunities.
"We want to reach to our target by 2021, ..we want to build poverty and hunger free Bangladesh and that`s why the young generation should promote themselves in line with the world class performance," he added.
With Cooperative Association President M Haider Ali Molla in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by acting secretary (technical and Madrasha division) M Alamgir, distinguished educationist and Managing Director of Tharmex Group Abdul Quader Molla and association`s general secretary Alamgir Hossain.
Later, the minster distributed stipend and certificate among a total of 111 students at the function.
