Significant development achieved in health sector: Nasim

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said on Saturday "The country is moving ahead, significantly, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina"."During the tenure of the present government significant development had been achieved in health, education, communication, energy and rural development", he said while addressing a opinion sharing meeting with doctors, nurses and employees at the Mymensingh Medical College auditorium this afternoon.Chaired by the principal of the college, Prof Dr Motiur Rahman Bhuiyan, the meeting was also addressed by Minister for Religious Affairs` Principal Motiur Rahman and Habib-e-Millat, MP, others who spoke at the function included the director-general of health, Prof. Deen Mohammad Nurul Haque, secretary general of BMA, Prof Iqbal Arsalan, pro-VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Sharifuddin Ahmed, general secretary of Shadinata Chikitshak Parishad, Dr M A Aziz and secretary, BMA, Mymensingh chapter, Dr Motiur Rahman.The health minister urged newly appointed doctors to work in rural areas to provide health services to people in the village.The minister also said "Now Bangladesh was a role model of development in the world due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina".He urged all to work with the spirit of the liberation war for establishing the much-cherished "Sonar Bangla" as dreamt of by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.Nasim assured the local health officials of supply of necessary equipment and apparatus for proper treatment of kidney, cancer and heart diseases in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.Earlier, the minister visited the ICU and CCU of the hospital and praised the local authority for its modernization.
