Google Trips wants to make your summer vacation easier

We are now in the beginning of the prime vacation season, so there’s not a better time for an update to roll out for the Google Trips app, which first launched just a few months ago in September 2016. The company says the new version, which is rolling out from the Google Play Store this week, will add three new features.

One of those new features in the app is the ability to see your hotel, flights and other travel information for your trip in one place, instead of opening multiple pages. This should help many people who might take more than one airline, or spend time in more than one hotel room, during a trip.

Anther new feature is the “+” button in the bottom right corner within the Reservations section of the app. If you have to make some last-minute changes to your trip itinerary, pressing that button will allow you to alter your flight, hotel or other reservations directly in the app, even if you don’t have a confirmation email or number. It even lets you write down notes at the bottom if you need to do so.

Finally, the other new feature in the Google Trips update is specifically for bus and rail travelers, which is a popular way to see the sights in Europe. Google says the app update will automatically organize all your past and future train and bus reservations in one location on the app.

Are you planning to go on a long vacation this spring or summer, and if so, will you use the new features in Google Trips to help you organize your journey? Let us know in the comments!
