58 DU students get Dean`s Award

Fifty eight meritorious students from various departments under the Faculty of Biological Sciences of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded "Dean`s Award" for their excellent academic results in the BS honors examinations of session 2013-14.Among them, 14 male and 44 female students have received this award. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the awards among the students at a function at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university on Thursday.Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof Dr M Imdadul Hoque presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin addressed it as special guests.Chairpersons of the various departments declared the names of awardees. Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Prof Dr Md Sayedul Islam gave vote of thanks.Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the students to go forward after equipping themselves with the truth.He also called upon the students to prepare themselves with the combination of merit and honesty. `Only academic results never bring benefit to the nations.
