The High Court (HC) today granted bail to Tangail-3 lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana in the Freedom Fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case.A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury and Justice ANM Bashir Ullah passed the order, issuing a rule asking the state to explain as to why it shall not grant the lawmaker permanent bail in the case.Senior advocate Abdul Baset Mazumder moved Rana`s bail plea at the court, while deputy attorney general Sheikh AKM Moniruzzaman stood for the state.Earlier on March 30, the High Court had dismissed a rule issued on the same matter. Later the controversial lawmaker filed a fresh plea.Rana was sent to jail by a trial court as he surrendered before it on September 18, 2016.
