Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 100 goals in European competition when he netted a brace against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Portugal captain Ronaldo came into the game on 98 European goals, with the most recent of them coming in the 2-2 draw at Dortmund in September - having failed to net in the 5-1 win over Legia Warsaw, the 3-3 draw in the return leg, the 2-1 win at former club Sporting Lisbon, 2-2 draw against Dortmund in December, or the 6-2 aggregate win over Napoli in the round of 16.
It had been a total drought of 659 minutes in the Champions League before he latched on to a low cross from Dani Carvajal to direct the ball home for his 99th goal and his century came soon after from close range.
Ronaldo has scored 97 of his European goals in the Champions League proper, with another in the qualifiers and two in the European Super Cup.
