Hasina came with empty hands: Khaleda

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came from India with empty hands, said BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.“She came back with empty hands,” Khaleda said at a press conference at her Gulshan office in Dhaka on Wednesday.The former premier also said, “She (Hasina) brought nothing but some assurances.”The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday evening held a press conference on her recent India tour from April 7-10.Bangladesh and India singed a total of 34 agreements, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and documents.Bangladesh long-desired Teesta River water-sharing agreement has been prolonged further as India is not interested to sign the agreement.However, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence was signed between the two countries, though India wanted to sign an agreement in this regard.Khaleda said that BNP would scrap any pacts signed against the interest of the country, if they came to power.BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alomgir, Standing Committee Member Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Mirza Abbas, Gayshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Maeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and vice chairman Major (Rtd.) Hafiz Uddin, among others, were present at the press conference.
