Five killed in Sirajganj road accidents

At least five people were killed in two separate road accidents in Sadar and Ullapara upazilas of the district this morning.

Three people were killed and three others injured as a bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Sirajganj-Kadda road in Banbaria-Barakandi area in Sadar upazila on Monday morning, said sub-inspector (SI) of Sadar police station Joydeb Kumar.

The deceased were identified as Al-Amin, 30, son of Maham Pramanik, Sobhan, 35, son of Habi Hajji and his brother Belal Hossain, 32, all are residents of Choubari-Paschimpara village under Kamarkhand upazila of the district.

The injured were sent to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.

In another accident, a woman and her daughter were killed and her husband was injured as a truck hit their motorbike in Durganagar area on the Bogra-nagarbari road under Ullapara upazila of the district this morning, police said.

The victims are China Rani Pal, 30, wife of Shankar Kumar pal and her daughter Tuli Rani Pal, 6.

Shankar is a lecturer at Shatbarhia Degree College in Shahjadpur and her wife China Rani, worked at a community clinic.

Critically injured Shankar was admitted to Sadar hospital.
