The Election Commission (EC) has sought television footages which were broadcasted on different channels over the irregularities and clashes.EC sent letters to 21 TV channels chief news editors seeking the footages. However, several EC officials expressed their misgivings whether any action would be taken after scrutinizing the footages.An EC official seeking anonymity said EC could not take any action against the people who violate rules during City Corporation, Upazila and National elections after scrutinizing the video footages of some TV Channels, rather than EC termed the footages as exaggerated.The country’s maiden local body Polls were held in 234 municipalities on December 30. Twenty political parties including country’s two largest parties Awami League and BNP participated the election.
