A man was killed in a suicide blast that occurred nearby a police check post in the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday, a police official said.
“It is a suicide attack. The identity of the suicide attacker could not be ascertained yet,” Nure Azam Mia, officer-in-charge of Airport Police Station, told Jago News.
“The youth aged about 24-28 killed himself by exploding a bomb in front of the police box at the airport intersection at about 7:40pm,” he said, adding that Investigation is going on to this end.
Meanwhile, a traffic police who witnessed the incident said that the youth blew himself up as police stopped him on suspicion near the police check post.
