Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and CPA Executive Committee Chairperson Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today stressed on exchange of visits of the parliamentarians of Bangladesh and Nepal for further enhancing ties among them.“Relations among the members of the two country`s parliaments would be intensified further following exchange of visit which would immensely help strengthening democracy between Bangladesh and Nepal,” she said.The speaker made these remarks when she called on her Nepalese counterpart and Speaker of Nepal Parliament Onsari Gharti Magar at the latter`s parliament office in Kathmandu.During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral issues covering women empowerment, their education, gender parity and trade and business, a Jatiya Sangsad press release said.The Speaker said that excellent bilateral relations are existing between the two countries and hoped that these ties would be further enhanced in the days to come. She also hoped that Nepal will remain beside Bangladesh in many important issues.Besides, Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury informed her Nepalese counterpart about the 136th Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly to be held in Dhaka on April 1-5.Source: BSS
