Authorities will reopen the 228-year-old former Dhaka Central Jail in Nazimuddin Road of Dhaka for all on March 25 on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bangladesh.The old central jail, which was significant for many important historical events for the nation, will remain open for the visitors until March 27.People will be able to visit inside the jail by paying an entry fee of Tk 100 from March 25-27.Awami League general secretary and the road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the three-day long exhibition shows on March 24.Confirming the information Prison Department AIG (Administration) Md Abdullah Al Mamun said, “We will hold a press briefing in this regard inside the former central jail on Wednesday morning.”The authorities opened the prison for visitors for the first time on November 2-5 last year on the occasion of Jail Killing Day.
