The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday set February 2 to begin the hearing on appeal filed challenging the death penalty for war crimes convict Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Quasem Ali.A four member full bench of the Appellate Division headed-by Chief Justice SK Sinha will conduct the hearing.The prosecution and defense already have submitted the synopses of appeal to the Appellate Division.Mir Quasem Ali’s chief lawyer Khandaker Mahbub Hossain will move for him while attorney general Mahbubey Alam will be the prosecutor.
