BNP will hold peaceful rally: Fakhrul

BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said the BNP is going to hold a peaceful rally tomorrow for establishing democracy in the country."Our rally will be peaceful. We hoped that the government will help us exercise our basic and democratic rights," he told the journalist at a press conference at the party central office in the city.He said the BNP has applied to the concerned authority to seek permission for a rally at Sharwardee Uddayan or Naya Paltan marking the January 5.Among others, BNP Joint Secretary General M Shahjahan and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed were present on the occasion.BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is expected to attend the rally as the chief guest, BNP media wing official Shairul Kabir Khan said.BNP has taken a programme to hold a rally tomorrow at 2 pm, he said.Begum Khaleda Zia will meet with the party`s senior leaders at chairperson`s Gulshan Office tonight, another official of BNP media wing Shamsuddin Didar said.
