A total of 537 inmates are suffering from mental illness but there is no psychiatrist for thier mental health care.Experts said that inmates could be mentally ill due to staying in jail for a long time and treatment for them was different from that for other patients.The mentally-ill inmates get treatment like general patients as there is no any psychiatrist for their treatment, even not a post, said the sources of Prison Department.Prison Department will recruit more than three thousand people, the largest recruitment in number since 1984.
