PKSF to form platform for implementation of SDGs

Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) has announced to form a new platform with noted people and organizations having contribution to different areas for implementation of Sustainable Development Targets (SDGs).The platform "People`s Voice: Strengthening SDGs Implementation in Bangladesh" will have three committees which will take up different programmes and implement those for proper implementation of SDGs. PKSF chairman Dr Qazi Khalikuzzaman Ahmad will act as adviser of the three committees. It was announced at a seminar held at the PKSF Bhaban at Agargaon today with its chairman Dr Qazi Khalikuzzaman Ahmad in the chair. Planning minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, member of the parliamentary standing committee on food ministry Md Abdul Wadud, Chief Coordinator (SDG) of Prime Minister Office Abul Kalam Azad and PKSF managing director Md Abdul Karim, among others, addressed it. AHM Mustafa Kamal said Bangladesh is on right tract and people of all walks of life have been working under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the development of the country. "We know where we have to go, what are our targets. There is no fear of losing the path as the Prime Minister is leading us," Kamal added. Abul Kalam Azad said Bangladesh does not need foreign consultants for its development. All will have to come forward for implementation of SDGs, he said, adding "steps have been taken to develop a software so that ministers, MPs and secretaries can know everything even sitting in home,".Other speakers said poverty alleviation is not only the present government`s main target. It’s main target is to turn Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041, they added.
