Awami League-led 14-party combine will hold mass processions across the country on February 20 in protest against the countrywide ongoing violence. Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, a spokesperson for the combine, came up with the announcement at a briefing at AL chief’s Dhanmondi office in Dhaka Sunday afternoon. The mass processions will start from Bangabandhu Avenue around 4:00pm and end at Shikha Chirantan in Suhrawardy Uddyan in Dhaka.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed presided over the briefing. He has brushed aside different quarters’ suggestions for holding a dialogue with opposition BNP.
The alliance is also scheduled to hold a rally in Rajshahi city on February 23 protesting the recent violence carried out by BNP and its allies.
