A Moscow-based company Hoversurf recently tested a single-seat hoverbike with success. The vehicle is powered by both electricity and a hybrid battery and resembles what appears to be a mixed between a quadcopter and a speeder bike.The bike functions on the recently developed Scorpion-3 (S3) platform which as described by the company, is a single-seat aircraft that re-discovers the art of flying and hovering enabling a hi-tech quadcopter-based solution.The test flight took place in Moscow on Thursday, 16 February, wherein the abilities of the Scorpion S3 were showcased. According to Hoversurf, the craft can reach a maximum speed of 50kph and run for at least 27 minutes in a single-charge.The platform is currently a “crowd-funding” project wherein the craft is expected to be priced around $150,000.Source: Deccan Chronicle
