Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said next national elections were set to be held in line with the constitutions and expected BNP to be the main contender of the ruling party in the polls.“The (next) election will be held as per constitution (and) BNP will be the main contender of Awami League,” he told the Rajshahi Divisional Workers Conference- 2017 of Awami League at Madrasha Moidan here today as the chief guest.He asked the party leaders and activists to prepare for the polls as “there is no scope to treat rivals as weak candidates”.Quader urged the party men to strengthen Awami League and hands of Prime Minister Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina discarding internal conflicts.Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak chaired the meeting addressed among others by Land Minister Shahmsur Rahman Sherif, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Polok, former Mayr of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Awami League Organizing Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.Quader said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for improving the people`s living standard and by now attained success in various fields.He urged the party workers to reach the development messages to the door steps of the grassroots people.Source: BSS
